Outlet Repair
Professional outlet repair for loose, sparking, or non-working receptacles. Fast diagnosis and code-compliant fixes to restore safe power throughout your home or business.
Inspect & Test
We test the outlet, check voltage, inspect the wiring inside the box, and trace the circuit to find the fault.
Diagnose the Cause
Identify whether it's a worn receptacle, loose connection, backstabbed wire, ground fault, or upstream circuit issue.
Repair to Code
Replace the receptacle if needed, secure all connections with proper wire nuts or screws, verify grounding, and install GFCI protection where required.
Test & Verify
Confirm the outlet is working safely under load, test GFCI function if applicable, and check that the circuit is stable.
Can you fix an outlet without replacing it?+
Sometimes. If the receptacle itself is fine but the wiring is loose or a connection has failed, we can repair the wiring. If the outlet is worn, melted, or damaged, replacement is the safer option.
Why does my outlet spark when I plug something in?+
A small spark on initial contact is normal—it's the arc as the plug makes connection. Repeated sparking, large flashes, or sparking when the plug is already seated means a loose connection, worn contacts, or a short, and it needs immediate repair.
Do I need a permit to repair an outlet?+
In most NJ municipalities, replacing a receptacle like-for-like does not require a permit. If we're adding circuits, upgrading to GFCI, or rewiring, a permit may be required. We handle that and ensure the work passes inspection.
